Store Assistant – Catering Operative

Location: Crawley (Catering Unit)

Contract Type: Temporary (Employment Business – AVTAV)

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Overtime: £19.07 pe hour

Shifts: 06:00 – 15:00

Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days / 5 on 3 off

AVTAV is recruiting Store Assistant on behalf of a busy airport catering and inflight services operation based in Crawley.

This is a fast-paced production and catering environment supporting aircraft catering operations. You will play a key role in ensuring loading, unloading, packing, and storing of goods are carried out efficiently, accurately, and in line with hygiene and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Storing goods correctly in designated areas (chilled, frozen, or dry storage)

* Moving stock safely within the warehouse and kitchen areas

* Supporting food preparation tasks as required

* Handling and organising incoming deliveries

* Carrying out stock checks and stock rotation

* Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times

* Following health, safety, and food handling procedures

Candidate Requirements

* Reliable, punctual, and hardworking

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

* Good communication skills and a positive attitude

* Able to work effectively as part of a team

* Basic understanding of English (reading and writing)

* Previous experience in catering, production, or kitchen environments is desirable but not essential

Compliance Requirements

As part of the onboarding process, all applicants must be willing to undergo:

* 5-year employment history verification

* UK criminal record check (CRC)

* Overseas criminal record check (if applicable)

* Full cooperation with compliance and screening procedures

Applicants who have spent more than 6 months outside the UK must provide relevant overseas criminal record checks.
