HGV Class 2 Driver

Role Overview

We're proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Class 2 Driver to join their growing transport operation. This is a Monday to Friday role offering regular routes, established customer relationships, and a supportive working environment.

Role and Responsibilities

• Carry out daily palletised deliveries and collections to businesses within approximately a 40-mile radius
• Load pallets onto the vehicle at the start of each shift
• Complete an average of 18–20 deliveries and collections per day, primarily servicing regular customers
• Operate pump trucks and tail lifts safely and efficiently when loading and unloading pallets
• Assist with pallet scanning and associated delivery documentation as required
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects in line with company procedures
• Deliver excellent customer service at every collection and delivery point
• Work closely with warehouse staff to offload collected pallets at the end of each shift
• Adhere to all road transport regulations and company policies

Requirements for the Role

• Maximum of 6 minor penalty points on your driving licence
• Minimum of 1 year's Class 2 driving experience
• Ability to complete a driving and written assessment successfully
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Experience using pump trucks and tail lifts preferred

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Start time: 08:30
• Finish time: 18:30

Vehicle Information

• Mainly operating 18-tonne vehicles
• Occasional use of 7.5-tonne vehicles

Nature of the Work

• Palletised deliveries and collections to business customers
• Regular customer base with repeat delivery and collection locations
• Some manual handling involved when repositioning pallets for scanning purposes, typically involving only a small number of pallets
