Full Job Description
As an HGV Class 2 Driver you will be working at the heart of major UK airports and train stations. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring aircrafts and trains are fully catered, stocked, and ready for departure, safely, efficiently, and on time.
Shifts & Hours:
• Average 12-hour shifts (11.5 hours paid)
• Operations run 7 days a week, including public holidays
Start Times:
- Day shift 04:00AM - 12:00PM (Start times may vary, so flexibility is essential)
- Night shift 18:00PM - 06:00AM (Start times may vary, so flexibility is essential)
Shift Patterns:
• 4 on / 4 off
Break Structure:
• 1st break unpaid
• 2nd break paid
Pay Rates:
- £18.56 p/h
- Overtime £27.84 p/h
- Bank holiday £37.12 p/h
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Driving HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicles airside
• Operating catering and high-loader vehicles in restricted airport zones
• Loading and unloading catering equipment in line with aircraft specifications
• Delivering food, beverages, and equipment directly to aircraft
• Completing vehicle safety checks before and after shifts
• Ensuring all deliveries meet strict aviation safety and timing requirements
• Maintaining compliance with Food Safety, Hygiene, and Aviation Security regulations
• Working closely with airside teams and flight crew
Essential Requirements:
• Valid UK HGV Category C (Class 2) licence
• Digital Tachograph card
• Maximum of 6 minor penalty points
• Previous Class 2 driving experience required
• Ability to work flexible shift patterns, including weekends and public holidays
• Strong awareness of safety in a high-risk, time-sensitive environment
• Willingness to undergo full airside security clearance
