About the Role

AVTAV is proud to be working in partnership with DHL Express, one of the world's leading international logistics providers, to recruit Couriers for their Barking operation.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced logistics environment where customer service, reliability and professionalism are essential. As a Courier, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of shipments whilst providing an exceptional service to customers.

You will represent both DHL Express and AVTAV whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety and customer care.

Role Responsibilities

The role may include:

• Collecting and delivering shipments within designated routes and timescales.

• Providing excellent customer service at all collection and delivery points.

• Loading and unloading shipments safely and securely.

• Ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately using handheld technology.

• Conducting vehicle checks and reporting any defects.

• Managing delivery documentation and electronic records.

• Following route plans and operational instructions.

• Maintaining the security and integrity of all shipments.

• Representing the client professionally at all times.

In addition, all employees are expected to:

• Follow company procedures and operational requirements.

• Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Work effectively as part of a team.

• Follow all Health & Safety procedures.

• Maintain a professional and positive attitude.

• Support colleagues and management in achieving operational objectives.

Technical Skills, Licences & Experience

Only include where relevant:

• Full UK Driving Licence.

• No more than 6 penalty points. (No DR / DD / IN / TT)

• Previous multi-drop delivery experience.

• Experience using handheld scanners or delivery technology.

• Experience working within logistics or courier operations.

• Good vehicle safety awareness.

• Basic computer literacy.

Previous courier, delivery driver, transport or logistics experience would be beneficial but is not essential unless specifically stated above.

Aviation Security & Compliance Requirements

As this role supports a logistics operation connected to the aviation supply chain, successful applicants may be required to complete security screening and compliance checks.

These may include:

• Right to Work verification.

• Five-year employment history verification.

• UK criminal record check.

• International criminal record checks where applicable.

• Driving licence verification.

• Aviation security training where required.

All required vetting and training will be coordinated by AVTAV as part of the onboarding process.
