Baggage Handler

Role and responsibilities

• Loading inbound baggage and distributing to baggage belts for collection 
• Loading outbound hold baggage in to sorting bays and ensuring the accurate and efficient distribution to correct aircraft 
• Driving airside baggage vehicles to aircraft in line with company policies, procedures and SLA's
• Assisting Ramp Agents with aircraft loading, complying with load, weight & balance instructions
• Working to all legal and company requirements, working in a safe manner and meeting all health and safety responsibilities

Requirements for the role

• Full Manual driving licence 
• Ability to work in all weather conditions 
• Ability to work in a  physically demanding role loading high volumes of items up to 32kg 
• The ability to demonstrate great teamwork, willingness to learn

Security checks
As this role is connected to a major UK airport, applicants must be willing for AVTAV to complete the following process on their behalf in line with Aviation Security Regulations:

• 5-year employment history check
• UK criminal record check
• International criminal record check if the applicant has lived abroad for more than 6 months
• Relevant aviation security training completed in-house by AVTAV (at no cost to the applicant)
